Hokkaido

Remains of fishing weirs from c. 4,000 BP. Located at Ishikari, Hokkaido. Contact the Board of Education for information (since October 2002 or earlier, there has existed a Preparatory Office for the Establishment of a Cultural Assets Museum).

Exceptionally rich site with artefacts associated with around 300 grave pits. Lacquer ware items and beads have been found. Located at 226 Kogane District, Eniwa City, next to Hokkaido Bunkyo University. The City Office (see link above) or University may be able to provide advice on where to view the site or materials from the site.
