Kamiyamada Shell Midden

Middle Jomon (c. 4500 BP), located at Kamiyamada, Unoke. Faces Kahoku Lagoon, about 3 km from the open sea coastline. See also Ishikawa Prefecture public website). Access: excavated materials are shown at Nishida Memorial Municipal Museum in Unoke town.

Mawaki Jomon Park

Early to late Jomon site (8000 - 300 BC) located in park with a substantial on-site museum. Site covers approx. 3.8 hectares. Discovered here were animal remains including dolphin; plant remains, carved wooden poles, earthenware pots and ceramic masks. Enjoy also the "Jomon Mawaki Onsen", located on a hill overlooking the Mawaki ruins. Access: Notomachi in Fugeshi, on Noto Peninsula, 40Km by car on the 249 from Anamizu IC, Noto Expressway.

 

Mibiki shell mound, Tatsuruhama town

Early Jomon archaeological deposits below a shell mound. Report of a preserved oar. Local website not yet found.

Okyozuka Archeological Site

Late Jomon village site (c. 3500~2200 BP), located in Okyozuka-machi, Nonoichi.
